The 1932 Sideboard follows in the continuity of the Cabinet, also designed by Jean-Michel Frank in the same period. The decorator employed a gouging technique that emphasizes the natural singularity of the material. With these clean lines, Frank eschews all superfluous ornamentation, distilling the piece to the very essence of its function.
