Historical

The 1930 club chair is one of Jean Michael Frank & Adolphe Chanaux's favorites. As interior designers, it was more important for the duo to interpret and arrange spaces than to design mass-produced furniture. This club chair therefore refers to a certain type of upholstery, found in many bourgeois homes in the early 1900s, which Frank often loved and reinterpreted. Similar armchairs often appear in photographs of several apartments decorated by him, and differ in armrest length, back slope or other details.
